| | The little things make all the difference. I think we all sometimes question how our contribution will make a difference, if any, especially when it seems like an immaterial amount. The greatest things can begin with the smallest effort, like the old adage 'tiny drops of water make the mighty ocean'. I had that realisation recently in church where there was a call to fund the physical building and expansion of the facilities. I know that the whole 'church donation' topic has been under negative scrutiny in recent years, no thanks to the bad publicity on Destiny church in NZ. Nevertheless, I like to point out that generalising one rotten egg to the whole community will only fuel skepticsm, passivity and excuses in not doing what we can do to make our world a better place. I certainly support the activities of Life Church in whatever way I can as I know the change it has made to the community and NZ as a whole. I reasonably challenged myself to give $xxxx this year, an absolute reflection of how much God has blessed my life. There is always something that I can be thankful for, especially with my career development. I strongly believe that 'giving' should come from a willing and generous heart, and brings with it a supernatural impact. You never know how you will impact someone's life just with that random gift and how the butterfly effect spreads through. When the fundraising result was announced last week, I was so excited to notice that the target was met and exceeded EXACTLY by the amount I donated. Just over the top excitement - it felt so unreal. The little thing accompanied by a short prayer can result in a God-sized impact. David
